I Can See Russia From My House

I struggled for many weeks to find inspiration for my "Punch Line" quilt. Sometimes humor comes in likely places! On an episode of "Saturday Night Live" during the 2008 Presidential campaign, Tina Fey repeated a sentence that will live in infamy....."I can see Russia from my house." That was it! Foreign policy is that easy.
My quilt utilizes strip piecing, with an outline of the great state of Alaska. Looking through telescopes, we can see past Siberia to Moscow, Red Square and the Kremlin. Yes, we can!
