Dressed Up to Dream
I discovered Reilly and Maloney, folk singers and musicians extraordinaire, in the late ‘70’s. Many of their recordings hold meaning for me. In my studio I twirl and sway to “Dressed Up to Dream” while lamenting all of the old ballrooms and history lost to progress. The ballroom they sing of was in Seattle. “Dressed Up to Dream” is a lovely folk song, a nostalgic recollection of one couple’s love story, a reminder of the grandeur that development often displaces, and a SIGN OF THE TIMES.
